Queen Esther - Concubine Vibes & Judgy Eyes
Let's talk about Queen Esther. I was thinking about how her life was thrown into chaos. When we read about her in the Bible, she seems to be a nice, humble girl who is obedient to her uncle Mordecai. She follows all the rules and does everything she is supposed to. She could never imagine that her entire life would be turned upside down because the king would need a new wife. She definitely never dreamed in a million years that she could ever be queen. What were her options in this situation? Think about being a woman back then. Put yourself in Esther's shoes. I would think to myself "There is no way I will be queen, the king would never choose me because of what I come from?!" I'd overthink and quickly conclude that I would end up as a concubine. That this would be the end of any plans I had for my own life. I don't get to have a family, husband, children of my own. I'm property of the king. I would be devastated, crying out to God, asking Him why me?! ...
